this week in music a year ago.... Bloc Party held the top position with flux, pet shop boys and Kings of leon also charted with strong tracks. Kings of leon also held the position of number 1 album.

the girls also fare well with entries from Fergie, The Sugababes, Roisin Murphy, Alicia Keys, Nelly Furtado, Rihanna and Avril Lavigne thats 35% of entries held by women

also interesting is 5 new entries are charted. the same week one year later i also have 5 new entries.

bloc party, kings of leon and pet shop boys are back in the chart exactly one year later with new tracks.

and perhaps most interesting is that kings of leon hold the number 1 album position exactly one year later with their new album Only By The Night

It's odd that on some levels the charts one year apart are quite similar
